ICT-Biochain is a consortium of eight partners from across Europe working to increase the efficiency of biomass supply chains using ICT.

The main objectives of the project are to:

  • To establish multi-actor digital innovation hubs for biomass supply chains

  • To improve the efficiency of biomass supply chains within the Model Demonstrator Regions by producing a feedstock specific database of best practices, and new opportunities for digitisation.

  • To establish a user friendly online platform to allow for wider exploitation of ICT, the Internet of Things and Industry 4.0 tools for improving supply chain efficiency.

  • To pave the way for the replication of the Digital Innovation Hubs in other EU regions

  • To disseminate and exploit ICT-BIOCHAIN ResultsThe project will run until June 2020, is funded by the Horizon 2020 programme, and coordinated by the Regional Ministry for Agriculture, Fisheries and Rural Development of Andalusia.

EBB project logo 480x370.jpg

EBB is an EMBRC-ERIC project whose main goal is to facilitate sustainable access to marine biodiversity, its associated data and extractable products for local and international academia and industry users, and to to incentivise biodiversity conservation in coastal ecosystems by promoting compliance with Access and Benefit Sharing (ABS) regulations derived from the Nagoya Protocol.

Facilitating Access to Marine Biological Resources

Biobanks contribute to conservation of marine diversity by complementing traditional in-situ conservation techniques with ex-situ methods that are safe and reproducible for short, medium, and long-term storage of biological specimens.

EBB is an EMBRC-ERIC project whose main goal is to facilitate sustainable access to marine biodiversity, its associated data, and extractable products for local and international academia and industry users, and to incentivise biodiversity conservation in coastal ecosystems by promoting compliance with Access and Benefit Sharing (ABS) regulations derived from the Nagoya Protocol.

EBB aims to contribute to the protection of marine biodiversity through the establishment of the European Blue Biobank, a world class centrally curated marine biobank operated by EMBRC-ERIC.
