Role Summary

OGI Bio are seeking a dynamic Head of Sales & Business Development to develop and lead their sales organisation. This role encompasses the entire customer journey—from marketing and lead generation to sales execution, customer onboarding, retention, and after-sales support. The successful candidate will report directly to the CEO and maintain regular interactions with the Board of Directors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement comprehensive sales and business development strategies aligned with company objectives.

  • Team Management: Build and lead a high-performing sales and marketing team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.

  • Market Expansion: Identify and pursue new market opportunities, including international expansion, to drive revenue growth.

  • Customer Relationship Management: Oversee the entire customer lifecycle, ensuring exceptional service from initial contact through post-sale support.

  • Performance Monitoring: Establish KPIs and utilise CRM tools to monitor team performance, sales metrics, and customer satisfaction.

  • Board Reporting: Provide regular updates to the CEO and Board on sales performance, market trends, and strategic initiatives.

 

Qualifications & Experience

Required:

  • Educational Background:
    Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Life Sciences, or a related field.

  • Industry Experience:
    Minimum of 7 years in sales or business development within the biotechnology or life sciences sector. Experience engaging and working with distribution partners in the sector would be beneficial.

  • Leadership Skills:
    Proven track record of leading successful sales teams and driving revenue growth.

  • Strategic Thinking:
    Ability to develop and execute strategic plans aligned with company goals.

  • Communication:
    Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.

  • Technical Acumen:
    Familiarity with laboratory automation technologies and an understanding of customer needs in research and development settings.
